St. Moriz Tanning Mousse and Tanning Lotion

ST. MORIZ INSTANT SELF TANNING MOUSSE IN 'DARK' AND ST. MORIZ INSTANT SELF TANNING LOTION - FRAGRANCE DIRECT
It has been a little while since my last fake tan review, so I thought I would post today about the latest products to be rigorously tried and tested by yours truly.
I bought the St. Moriz products from Fragrance Direct; a site I use on a regular basis to order beauty products at a discounted price. These were excellent value for money with the mousse and lotion costing £2.99 each. They're basically a cheaper version of St. Tropez and, in my opinion, the price instantly makes them worth trying even if you're not sure!

I find the two products give a lovely, natural, olive looking tan and are extremely easy to apply with tanning mitts. The mousse is slightly easier to apply in my opinion as it sinks into the skin a little slower so gives you longer to buff the product in to ensure an even tan. It's also ever-so-slightly darker in colour than the lotion, however the difference is barely noticeable. They both dry reasonably quickly so you're not left hopping around trying not to touch anything for too long, and I tend to apply the tan last thing before I go to sleep and then wash it off in my morning shower. The smell isn't too bad either; not nasty like some fake tans (although I do quite like 'that' fake tan smell..). Both products last nicely on the skin for about a week before they may start to go patchy and fade, however I tend to reapply half way through the week which makes the colour last a little longer.
Both the mousse and lotion have pump dispensers which are extremely useful, as you can be sure that you're not using too much product and can work out how many pumps you need for each area of the body which means minimal waste! I've had these two bottles for a good few months now and still have plenty of product left, so with/without the Fragrance Direct discount you're definitely getting value for money.
To conclude, these are without a doubt my favourite fake tanning products that I've used to date and I will certainly be repurchasing them. I don't have a favourite as I feel they do similar things, so will probably get one of each again and use them in conjunction with one another like I've been doing so far. If you haven't had a browse of Fragrance Direct, make sure you do as they sell lots of popular high end products with great discounts (even MAC)..

Have any of you tried products from St. Moriz? What did you think?

back to normality

SHIRT - FOREVER 21/SHORTS - NEW LOOK/CREEPERS - OFFICE
Hello again bloggers! I believe it has been approximately three weeks since I last posted which to me is such a long time, and the break has been for no real reason other than being so incredibly busy and not feeling very inspired to post. I think it's good to give blogging a break every now and again though and give 'real life' the full attention it deserves, however I'm now back in the game and normal order should be resuming!
A brief update on what has been going on since you last saw me; I went on a beautiful and oh-so-relaxing holiday to Lefkada (a Greek island) with my family, I worked LOADS, I got my GCSE results which I am so so so proud of, and I went to Reading festival (you can see my wristband above) which was one of the best weekends of my life! Have any of you been to Reading or any other music festivals this year?
My outfit today is very casual, but I just wanted to finally get a post up! I love this white linen cropped shirt which was a chance find in Forever 21. I've been wearing it 24/7 and it looks hawt with denim. I rarely find nice things in F21 so I was chuffed with this little bargain!

See you in my next post (which hopefully won't be three weeks from now)..

designer spotlight #3

PEPLUM TOP/LOGO RING/HAZELNUT BROWN PURSE/LACE TOP
For today's Designer Spotlight post I have chosen to feature Marc Jacobs. The site I was browsing this week was Van Mildert; an online designer retailer that stocks premium brands as well as some high end high street brands such as French Connection and Firetrap among others.

I've chosen four pieces from the Marc by Marc Jacobs collection that caught my eye. I don't know why the ring appealed to me so much - I've been really into simple, silver, band rings at the moment and I think the little Marc Jacobs logo around the edge adds a little designer class that my £1.50 Primark multi pack ones don't have! The tops I thought were quite cute, especially the lace one; as I've mentioned before I can't stop wearing white/cream tops! I chose to add the purse in there because, let's face it, we all want a designer purse and this nude patent leather one with the gold hardware just caught my fancy. A Mulberry one would be perfect, but sometimes a girl can only dream!

What do you think of Marc Jacobs? Do any of these pieces tickle your fancy?

holiday beauty buys

VASELINE ALOE FRESH MOISTURISER/GARNIER SUMMER BODY GRADUAL TAN MOISTURISER IN DARK/SIMPLE KIND TO SIN SUN-KISSED MOISTURE CREAM/SIMPLE KIND TO SKIN MOISTURE BOOST HYDRO MIST/LUSH TEA TREE WATER TONER/SIMPLE KIND TO SKIN REFRESHING FACIAL WASH GEL (TRAVEL SIZE)/GARNIER PURE ACTIVE FRUIT ENRICH DAILY ENERGIZING GEL SCRUB/PIZ BUIN TAN AND PROTECT TAN ACCELERATING OIL SPRAY SPF 15
This is just a quick post to show you some of the beauty products I've recently acquired to take on holiday with me. This isn't everything - just the semi-interesting new purchases (obviously I have to take all the boring essentials like deo and shower gel too, but you don't want to see those)!
I was very keen to try the Piz Buin Tan Accelerating Oil as, if it does what it says on the tin, I think it could be a great product. It is very expensive however is currently half price in Sainsburys and Tesco so if you want to try a bottle, now is the time to get it! I'm also going to be taking my trusty Garnier Summer Body with me, just in case I get to the beach and cringe at my pastiness in comparison to all the natives and feel the need to tan up; very likely. I decided to buy the Simple Sun-Kissed Moisture Cream that has a hint of gradual tan in it as my face never tends to tan due to my constant cleansing and exfoliating; I'm hoping that this will make a difference! I'm also looking forward to using the Moisture Boost Hydro Mist - it's a 50ml bottle so can be taken onto the plane, and will be lovely and refreshing to spritz onto my face if my skin is feeling tired and dehydrated during the flight or on the beach. I also made my first ever purchase in Lush with the little bottle of Tea Tree Water Toner, as I've heard lots of great reviews about the Lush toners - I'll keep you posted on how this and some of the other new products shape up!

What are your holiday beauty essentials?

utterly orange

JEANS - MISS SELFRIDGE/TOP - TOPSHOP/BAG - PRIMARK/CREEPERS - OFFICE/WATCH - ICE/NECKLACE - TOPSHOP
I'm wearing my new high waisted jeans again but ya know what, I love them so much and I'm working on the cost-per-wear so I'm just going to wear them until they die! They're so comfortable and soft, and the fit is unbelievably flattering (at least I think so)! My top is from Topshop last year - I really got into fruit prints as I think they make a nice summery alternative to florals. I haven't seen them around so much this year, but I still dig this top out now and again if I fancy a bright print.
On my lips I'm wearing the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 'Rendezvous'. I only bought it yesterday as I thought it would be a good one for holiday - it's a lovely peachy shade that not only moisturises lips but also stains them, which is handy for going out for meals and things at night and not having to worry about reapplying lip colour! I may well buy another one before I go in a pink shade; they're currently on offer in Boots for £5.99 as apposed to £7.99! They're definitely well worth a try and I've heard that they're extremely similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks but at a fraction of the price - I've never tried these but I'm all for a 'drugstore dupe'!

Have any of you tried the Revlon Just Bitten stains or the Clinique counterparts?
